How To Derma Roll

How To Derma Roll

  1. Spray our roller with the sanitiser spray till the head is completely covered. Leave to air dry for 10 minutes.
  2. Use the enclosed headband to keep your hair back off your face.
  3. Thoroughly wash your face twice with your favourite cleanser and pat dry your skin.
  4. Take the roller and gently roll back and forth in your desired area 4-6 times applying light pressure before moving to next area. Alternate the roller vertically 4-6 times first then horizontally and then diagonally.
  5. At first it may feel like light scratches but over time this will lessen as your skin gets use to derma rolling.
  6. Apply 3-5 drops of vitamin C serum directly after use for the best absorption. Please note you will feel a slight stinging sensation, this is normal! Your skin will feel like mild sunburn. Do not worry. This sensation will gradually fade the more you derma roll.
  7. Wash roller with soapy water and rinse well under the tap.
  8. Sanitise and air dry your roller again. Before placing back in its storage case.

Best to do this at night time before bed. Go to sleep and wake up glowing…
Only Derma Roll Once per week. Your skin needs time to heal before each treatment.

Do's & Don'ts of Dermarolling

Do's:

  • Disinfect before and after the procedure - Spray your roller's head thoroughly with our disinfectant spray and leave to air dry for 10 minutes.
  • You may disinfect your face as well prior to the procedure with rubbing alcohol.
  • Use your roller in a star pattern, five times in each direction - 5 times vertically, 5 times horizontally, 5 times diagonally each inclination; and make sure to always lift up your roller each time so the needle won't be insisting in the same "micro-hole" over and over again.
  • Be careful with the products you apply afterwards - you should avoid products with strong and irritant active ingredients (avoid essential oils, acids, retinol or retinol-type ingredients, highly fragranced formulas and/or comedogenic ingredients).
  • Apply gentle and calming products for hyper sensitive skin types like our vitamin c serum.
  • Do apply a SPF 50 the following morning and every day whilst using this treatment.

Dont's:

  • Attempt dermarolling if you're on the following medication:
    Antidepressants
    (Ro)Accutane / isotretinoin
    Antibiotics or penicillin
    Drugs for high blood pressure
    Anticoagulants
Any medication that may increase skin sensitivity
    Drugs that decrease healing
Drugs that cause hyper or hypopigmentation
    NSAID's
    Tetracycline
  • Dermaroll if you've recently had a peeling or exfoliating treatment, if you've had laser treatment or if your skin is just feeling vulnerable and sensitive overall.
  • Don't use any harsh acids or toners like salicylic acid or tretinoin cream for 24 hours after derma rolling.
  • Dermaroll over areas with the following characteristics or conditions:
Active Acne / Rosacea / Keratosis / Eczema / Psoriasis / Rashes / any other skin conditions
Any type of contagious skin disease
    Abnormal Skin Growth
    Keloid scarring
    Raised Moles
    Sunburn
    Skin Cancer
    Warts
    Open Wounds
Any type of inflammation or bruised skin
    Haemophilia
  • Apply too much pressure, slide your roller over your concerned areas (avoiding eye area unless that's your specific target) about five times in different directions as a star pattern, as explained above in the Do's section.
  • Share your dermaroller - that is you personal tool and you should not share it with anyone as you'd not share a mascara, toothbrush and such.
  • Apply pore clogging makeup or pore clogging products.
  • Be in direct sunlight for the next 24h.
  • Exfoliate your skin at all until 48 hours (that includes anything with acids on them and exfoliating scrubs)
